Hello folks,
I use OpenSSH v1.2.2. on a SuSe 6.4 PC.
As i understood from the SSL manpage it should be possible to login to a remote
host without an password, and without the use of the .rhosts or .shosts files.
It can be achieved by putting the pub-key in the ~/.ssh/autorized_keys of the
remote server.
I did all of that but when i try to login an prompted for an password and if i
reply i am direct disconnected. I get the following output:
debug: Reading configuration data /etc/ssh/ssh_config
debug: Applying options for alanis
debug: Applying options for *
debug: ssh_connect: getuid 0 geteuid 0 anon 0
debug: Connecting to alanis [10.0.0.4] port 22.
debug: Allocated local port 807.
debug: Connection established.
debug: Remote protocol version 1.5, remote software version OpenSSH-1.2.2
debug: Waiting for server public key.
debug: Received server public key (768 bits) and host key (1024 bits).
debug: Host 'alanis' is known and matches the host key.
debug: Encryption type: blowfish
debug: Sent encrypted session key.
debug: Installing crc compensation attack detector.
debug: Received encrypted confirmation.
debug: Trying rhosts or /etc/hosts.equiv with RSA host authentication.
debug: Server refused our rhosts authentication or host key.
debug: Trying RSA authentication with key 'root@alcatraz'

root@alanis's password:
Can anyone help me any further with this?
Thanks in advance!
