Hello,
I am having a problem with SSH and my firewall. This occurs with SSH or OpenSSH
What I have is:
woody - static ip, on internet in other location
buzz - dynamic ip, on internet, NAT server / firewall for network
slinky - workstation, connects to internet through buzz
[root@slinky:~]# ssh woody
[EMAIL PROTECTED]'s password:
[root@woody:~]# logout
Connection to woody.ichilton.co.uk closed.
As you can see, connecting to woody, through buzz works fine..
[root@buzz:~]# ssh woody
Secure connection to woody.ichilton.co.uk on port 22 refused.
[root@buzz:~]#
but, from buzz itself, it doesn't work...
Lowering the firewall solves this problem..
[root@buzz:~]# ssh woody
[EMAIL PROTECTED]'s password:
[root@woody:~]# logout
Connection to woody.ichilton.co.uk closed.
[root@buzz:~]#
Port 22 is enabled through the firewall, and all outgoing packets should be...it just
stops SYN packets..AFAIK.
But, slinky is connecting through buzz, so how does that work?
Any ideas???
Thanks!
Bye for Now,
Ian
