lutz,
your advice worked!!! after creating an entropy device file, recompiling
ssh and pointing it to that file, it immediately sped things up!! i went
from a connection time of 45 seconds to, under 2! a significant
improvement. i guess ssh was having to generate a random number everytime i
ran it, and that was what caused the slowdown. anyway, i appreciate your
advice, now we can get rid of trusted hosts at work. Thanks!
