This may or may not be related to a similar sounding problem in a previous
post. When trying to remotely administer RH 7.0 machines, I have a problem
with a few x-apps. For example (un-important messages deleted):
local.machine$ ssh remote.machine
remote.machine$ ksu
remote.machine$ /sbin/linuxconf
channel 0: istate 4 != open
channel 0: ostate 64 != open
Error message from remadmin :Gdk-ERROR **: X connection to
remote.machine:10.0 broken (explicit kill or server shutdown).
Most x-apps (e.g. xterm, gv, etc.) don't have this problem. Redhat's
up2date also has this problem. Doing the same thing locally works fine.
Can anyone tell me if
1) I have a config problem,
2) linuxconf has a bug,
3) openssh has a bug, or
4) something else is the problem?
