Can someone tell me whether this is an SSH issue or a Solaris issue?

X connection to g35:15.0 broken (explicit kill or server shutdown).

If the display on the localhost is changed from the default to
$HOSTNAME:0.0 prior to the session, everything is fine. This happens
regardless of server-client version
(2.3.0<->2.3.0/2.3.0<->1.2.27/1.2.27<->2.3.0/1.2.27 <->1.2.27).
