Hi,

I am not subscribed, but I need to find out the cause of this error. I have
already installed OpenSSL version 0.9.6a on a Solaris 8 machine. Currently,
I am in the process of installing OpenSSH 2.5.2p2 and am running into the
following error when running "./configure":

checking for OpenSSL directory... configure: error: Could not find working
OpenSSL library, please install or check config.log

The "./configure" script runs through quite few "checking for ..."
statements just fine. Towards the end though, I get the above error. I've
included the location of my "ssl" directory in my $PATH statement but I
still cannot get past this error. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
