I just upgraded my ssh's from:

ssh-1.2.27
ssh-2.1.0.pl2

to:

ssh-1.2.31
ssh-2.4.0

I kept the same exact config files. I use to be able to stay connected to
my old version of ssh2 for a long as I want, no timeout or anything - I
could be on there for days idle and then use it and it would work fine.

With this new version it seems that I get booted off. So I ran some
programs to test this out, and it seems that all my ssh2 sessions will get
booted one hour after my initial session. I did see that it regenerates
the key every hour, so maybe it has something to do with this?

My log files look like this:

Apr 17 23:44:33 ns1 sshd2[17396]: Local disconnected: Protocol error:
packet 5 in interactive
Apr 17 23:44:33 ns1 sshd2[17396]: Protocol error in local: 'Protocol error:
packet 5 in interactive'

Lastly - the reason I upgraded was because sometimes ssh would stop
accepting connections and a simple kill -HUP would make it work again. Was
there a DOS attach possible on those versions? I have searched the web
high and low for both of these questions and I've seen similar questions,
but no answers.

Thanks,

Wes
