Yes, I was referring to the CR/LF translation issues
between Windows and Unix ;)
As to the speed issues, two new switches have been
added to sftp2 and scp2 -b and -N (batch mode for sftp
now uses -B, same as scp).
These two switches can be used to adjust the number of
buffers (-b) and the number of maximum concurrent requests (-N).
Adjusting these settings (increasing) can help improve file
transfer speeds. The settings you'll want to use will depend
on your network conditions and specific hardware, so you'll
need to play with them a bit till you find what works best for
your environment. See the man pages for sftp2 and scp2 for
more information, including the default values.
