As to superheater lines. Most all locos I have use copper tube .125 O.D. Which seems 
to work just fine.My 
Wrightscale Porter, which is a few years old, shown no sign of pitting. I did notice 
that Malcolm did aim the 
burner 180 opposite the superheater tube. My Roundhouse Fowler is about 14 years old, 
I should have a look 
at  it's tube for the last word.
