Heed the advice! My father had the operation in the 60's. Many days in bed 
with sandbags holding his head immobile. About a year later the same retina 
detached again. By this time the MD knew my Dad better and advised him to 
quit drinking Iron City Beer in the 12 oz bottles and switch to Rolling Rock 
in the green 7 oz bottles.  Must have worked, he didn't have another 
detachment!
