Wait until Accucraft starts shipping the C-16 live steamer - bet there'll be
lots of questions about steaming that big beast! And while they aren't quite
in the 3-digit range, they are quoted around $1999. You certainly get more
than 4 times a Ruby for that - whether it's length, weight, water capacity,
or whatever you measure. Can't wait for mine.

[I guess that the composition of silver solder is part of 'this hobby',
although I thought I was modelling trains, not learning to become an
engineer/machinist ....]
Follow-up Question: I was extremely confused in Home Depot when I looked at
the StayBrite silver solder(s). Where can I read about the differences, and
where is info about which to use on my small boiler(s)? In other words, what
is the "right" composition?

I think the 1/32nd scale fraternity are suffering from lack of affordable
stock, as someone mentioned. There's just nothing out there. I built my
garden line to accommodate an Aster A4 pacific, but even if I save my $$ for
the loco, it will cost me a fortune to buy/build the rolling stock. But I'm
still a 1/32nd buff - just 'in the closet' for now.
Conversely, I can buy a Roundhouse SM32 loco, add a plastic coupler, and pull
all sorts of plastic stock. (I use Bachmann 8-wheel ore wagons with coal
loads. See http://albums.photopoint.com/j/AlbumIndex?u=207305&a=9144522 for
pics of my Argyll + coal drag at Roger Cutter's in Sept.)
The Accucraft C-16 can be attached to my EBT stell hoppers, or to the
Bachmann coaches that I got with my Chattanooga ten-wheeler and set at
Costco, plus another 4 coaches acquired over the years for $20 each.
Even a british NG coach kit to match the Argyll in scale and period is only
$50 from GRS in the UK.
P.S. Help is on the way... Uncle Russ of Finescale RR magazine keeps
hinting that 2 existing manufacturers are about to jump into the 1/32nd
market. One is reported to be MTH - and given the nice stuff they produce
for the O-gauge hi-rail folk, I think 1/32nd will finally take off.
