Good suggestion.  They were reprinted in the early '70s and have lots of
engravings of various kinds of rolling stock.  These were the sources for most
(though not all) of the illustrations in John White's books.  If you can't find
either the full reprints of the Car Builder's Dictionary or the Train Shed
Cyclopedia reprints (selected topics from the CBD or the Locomotive Cyclopedia),
don't worry too much.  White's is a more comprehensive reference anyway.  But if
you can find one at a reasonable price, it's a really nice thing to have.  They
do come along occasionally at used booksellers or on eBay.
