You shouldn't have to touch the valve gear at all to remove the boiler.
The rear screw, the four saddle screws, and the steam line. You're all
set. Don't go messin' with the eccentrics and rocker arms unless you're
ready to take a lot of care marking EXACTLY where they were beforehand.
There's really no reason to do that anyway. 

As far as your other questions, I don't know. I opted not to put a
superheater on my Ruby.
