  That would be called the "steam lance", principally used for cleaning
down the locomotive after a run (or in the US, after 12 months or 50,000
miles, whichever occurs sooner).

   Sometimes things were rigged so that the feedwater from the injector
could be diverted and used.  I wouldn't have wanted to be the "nozzle man"
though.
