Richard, Brass is harder than copper, but I think that it would take a lot of brush strokes to ruin the flues. Everybody in 1.5 scale use brass gun cleaning brushes for cleaning flues. I think the stiffness of the brush would be the main concern in the flues. Flues for our little beast should be around .020 in thickness so it would take a lot of removal of metal before they were too thin. Bob
