IIRC, depends on whether it's ferritic, austenitic, or(/me forgets the
third type). To my knowledge only ferritic stainless steel is magnetic.
Another way to check is to try making it rust. If you had a big enough
piece, you could try machining it. Stainless steel machines like
demon-possesed aluminum.
