Thanks, it was looking for a lib that was not installed - apt-get install libnss-sss did the trick. Now I see messages appearing in /var/log/sssd/sssd.log and sssd_nss.log. No traces in sssd_ldap.log yet, but seems we're getting there. ... > Btw, are you running nscd? If yes try to stop it and see if sssd returns > anything.
