Hi Pavel,
Are you using XFCE per chance? There is a bug where the screen stays
black when exiting the screensaver, which would have been activated when
you closed the lid.
A workaround is to turn off "Display fullscreen overlay windows
directly" in Settings Manager -> Window Manager Tweaks -> Compositor (tab).

gets light, there is a "beep" (debug.acpi.resume_beep=1) and then the
screen is just black forever.
