Ok, here are the two patches needed for the correct backport of the third patch.
The 1st one is needed so that the 3rd one applies cleanly and the 2nd one fixes a !SMP build (see: http://marc.info/?l=linux-kernel&m=134398493228757). Also, it is the backported copy which went into 3.2 collapsing two commits, see same thread above. @Greg: they pass smoke build-testing ontop of 3.0.39, let me know if I need to change anything else. A 3.4 backport will follow.
