We have an NFS share in our network. I wrote some fairly simple shell scripts to install STAF, edit at-boot configurations for STAF, and edit the STAF.cfg file (and install the Timer extension if Java could be found on the machine). We have these scripts hooked into our network installation infrastructure as well... so, for example, if we install Linux, we have the option of having the STAF installation script run as a post-install script.
If you have an NFS share that's attached to all your network machines, it
makes it much easier. :) At least on UNIX-type systems.

Subject: [staf-users] Distributing STAF.cfg
Hi,
Well, STAF is starting to proliferate across my network. I have more and
more machines that use it. This is a Good Thing(tm).
But, I'm getting tired of manually changing every STAF.cfg file. How do
people normally deal with this? Do they simply do a massive "file copy" to
populate every machine? Are there any restrictions to copying STAF.cfg?
