I don't know. The STAF HTTP service itself does not do anything specifically for AJAX calls. The STAF HTTP service uses the Apache HttpClient 3.1 (http://hc.apache.org/httpcomponents-client-ga/) under the covers. HttpClient is a transport library that can transmit and receive virtually any kind of HTTP messages. HttpClient does not execute javascript embedded in HTML pages, or do other functionality unrelated to the HTTP transport.
