I assume you are talking about STAX job numbers (not STAF job numbers as
there are no STAF job numbers).
If so, whenever the STAX service is registered, the STAX job numbers are
reset to 1. You can unregister the STAX service and register dynamically
it via the STAF SERVICE service's REMOVE / ADD SERVICE requests without
restarting STAF. Note that when you unregister the STAX service, it will
terminate any STAX jobs that are currently running.
STAF staxMachine SERVICE REMOVE SERVICE STAX
STAF staxMachine SERVICE ADD SERVICE STAX LIBRARY JSTAF EXECUTE
{STAF/Config/STAFRoot}/services/stax/STAX.jar
Note that you can specify the same OPTIONs (if any) and PARMS (if any) on
your SERVICE ADD request that you specify when you register the STAX
service via your STAF.cfg file.
