It appears that the mail server that you configured for the STAF EMail
service to use is not a SMTP server that requires authentication.
Does your mail server require authentication? If it doesn't, then remove
the AUTHUSER and AUTHPASSWORD options from your Email SEND request.
You can google for more information on the error that your mail server is
returning: 504 5.7.4 Unrecognized authentication type

Again I am facing one issue with email external service in Windows machine
(64 bits). I configured it and I can see it in # STAF local service list.
However when I am trying to send any email its showing the error message.

So, does STAFProc start successfully? For example, start STAFProc as
follows (assuming STAF was installed to its default location of
/usr/local/staf):
# cd /usr/local/staf
# ../startSTAFProc.sh
Then look at nohup.out and make sure that the last line is: "STAFProc
version 3.4.12 initialized"
# tail nohup.out
Then set the STAF environment variables in a terminal as follows
# cd /usr/local/staf
# . ./STAFEnv.sh
Now try to submit a local STAF PING request as follows:
# STAF local PING PING
If that doesn't work (e.g. you get a RC 21), show me the output of all of
the above commands.

Hi,
I am a new user and installed STAF in 2-3 Unix machines. In two systems it
got installed and running fine. However in one machine it got installed,
but while running its throwing the error Error registering with STAF, RC:
21.
I just tried to change some settings which I found in net. But still I am
getting the same error.
1. Tried changing the Firewall settings to default, but it didn’t
work.
2. Tried by removing STAFreg.inf file.
3. Tried by Changing the settings in /etc/hosts file.
4. Tried by changing the settings in STAFEnv.sh file.
6. Tried by deleting all STAF temp files.
1. So please help me to rectify this error.
