Hello,

Just to add a point: the metadata made available through the Europeana Linked
Open Data pilot are under CC0 license. However the images are still under
different licenses stated by the institutions partners with Europeana. Some are
in the public domain but not all. This information is provided in the data
through the element edm:rights.

Best,
Valentine

Exactly! If you could add a plugin to your image widget that

* checks all properties if values end with image extensions (*.png, *.jpg, ...)
* check if content of well known properties provide image data (e.g.
foaf:depiction ...)

it would even work with most of the Entities without any kind of
customization. This would be also true for Europeana as it provides
the link to the URL of the image as value of the "dc:subject" property

WDYT
