To clarify: I guess you mean the XEP mentions GPS way to much. The data
format itself does not rely on it AFAICT, right?

I guess this should be changed to what other XEPs do. Generally be
technology-agnostic, but give some examples what possible data sources
could be (making clear that those are only examples).
