Here's my 2�:
I use the mid-range Microsoft Optical Mouse (the Explorer, I think...four
buttons, left or right handed) with my G4 tower and I love it. I have the
low-end MS optical mouse hooked up to my Starmax 3000 machine right now and
it works great. My brother uses the Kensington Mouse-in-a-Box Optical with
his new iBook and it also works well. Personally, I would go with a MS mouse
only because the scrolling aspect of the drivers works better than the
Kensington Mouseworks software (or replace that with USB Overdrive).
I hear Logitech makes good mice, but I've not yet had a chance to use them
personally.
