Just one more thing to try ; disconnect the keyboard and start from the
external switch. I have seen buss problems with apple and starmax
keyboards that crash on startup.
If you have a system start-up disk put that in the CD-drive as well.
If you have ram in multiple slots remove all but the single bank.
