As long as you have a mac formated drive to boot from, ie another hard
drive or a CD, then the mac will boot up and be able to both read and write
files to the PC formatted media, whether its a IDE hard drive, or just a
floppy.
What isn't entirely clear is if you can actually boot from a PC format hard
drive, but my guess is no due to the drivers being PC.
