I'm currently running LinuxPPC on a StarMax 3240 that contains a 320Mhz
Joecard When I boot,the
very first (or second) extension loaded is the Joecard extension. Next
comes BootX, which is a means of selecting whether to boot into MacOS
or Linux. Booting in this manner lets LinuxPPC use the G3
processing of the Joecard. It's not likely you'll find anything Linux
specific for the Joecard.
Linux and the Starmax is a good combination. I'd have to say that the
StarMax performs better and is more stable running Linux than MacOS, but
YMMV. If you haven't installed Linux before, I'd also consider Mandrake
8.0 for PPC. Their graphic installation can take a lot of worry out of
the process.
