Monitor stuff
Do you know the monitor still works? (ie test on something else)
By no signal, do you mean it stays in sleep mode (low power), and "nothing"
happens during the boot cycle, no flashes etc.?
Is the monitor plugged into a known good AC outlet, turned on, and is the
brightness turned up?

Starmax stuff
Is the monitor plugged in to the Starmax video port securely?
Are you using any kind of video card?
Is the Pram battery good?
Does the Starmax seem to be fully booting up, ie whirring spinning for a
minute or so?
Try booting with extension off, hold down the something key.
After the system seems to have booted, hit return a couple times, and wait
a few seconds then hold down the power key on the keyboard until it chimes
(5 or 10 seconds), hit return to shutdown.
Try another monitor.
