Hi, Carl. They're talking about upgrading an existing sytem disk while not touching your apps or data. But you could do a new install, which would not be an upgrade, and could be done directly. You have to back up your data, erase your drive, install 9.1, re-install your apps, and copy back your data. I'd reccommend that route anyway, just to get rid of all the little corruptions that creep into systems over time.
