OSX is definitely, if not reluctantly the wave of the future for the Mac, & Mac users. I'm reticent about the change too, preferring the old tried & true. Not secondarily, I do resent the scam associated with the software upgrade treadmill. But, I do need to become familiar with the future of the Mac platform, even if it is in a somewhat crippled/limited environ, & so, the cheaper, the better.
I have though, recently installed an ATI 7000 Mac Edition card & a Sonnet Tempo ATA/100 PCI card, both supposedly OSX compatible. I don't know how my older XLR8 USB card or Farallon ISDN PC Card will fare, much less the JoeCard G3/320 (I do have a new XLR8 driver for trial). I understand, the old IX3D UltmatRez card is out of the question for OSX. So, count me in for the hack! $20 for first hand use of OSX doesn't mean you have to live in it.
