Well Linda,
I tried everything we discussed. I verified that the monitor
is fine. I unplugged the Starmax and removed that Video Dimm and blew
it out both the stick and the socket. Reinstalled the stick and
looked around for other places to blow clean. I even tried the CUDA
button one more time! Still nothing visual to report. It started
right up when I got everything plugged back in though. Oh well, If
nothing else works I guess I could send it to DTTmacintosh.com They
seem to have a pretty good handle on how best to work these problems
out. They trade your bad item for their refurbished one. For a fee of
course. But it's cheaper than trying to buy one from CompUSA!
Anyway, I'll leave it running for the time being. Maybe
someone will come up with a brainstorm!
Thanks for all the suggestions! Jim
