I felt it to be a browser issue too- that seems to be the consensus. I am using OS 9.1 since last spring maybe that's why I havent had the problem recently. I also got a beige G3 just before that and use that more than the Starmax now, so that could be it too. I kept to 8.6 for a long time but after maxing out the RAM went to 9.1- it does use a little more but if you max RAM to 160 it's not enough to be an issue, like 10 mb maybe, so I recommend this; but you're not missing anything crucial if you stay to 8.6 either.
