The StarMax computer works with the classic Mac OS up through version 9.1. The only potential issue is the CD driver. Most of the CD-ROM's shipped with StarMax computers are not supported by the standard Mac OS CD driver. If you are using OS 8.x, then you should know if you are using the native Mac OS driver, a 3rd party CD driver or have hacked Apple's. If you are using 7.6.1, then you will need to check <http://mcg.motorola.com/cfm/templates/starmax.cfm?PageID=596> if the CD-ROM is compatible with the standard driver. If it is not, the simplest solution is to make a copy of the CD driver from the extension folder before you upgrade, and place that copy into your new system folder. You can also hack <http://www.resexcellence.com/hack_html_99/12-21-98.shtml> Apple's to make it work.
