The problem, as I understand it, is that the hardware drivers need to 
be adjusted to work on the StarMax.   Both Xpostfacto and Sonnet's 
installer are direct results of open source efforts to port the 
underpinning Unix to the 'Old World' Macs.   They both install 
drivers to support the older SCSI and serial ports.   Something 
similar must be done for the PM4400/StarMax machines before it will 
work.
