I wasn't aware that any StarMax 3000/200s came with Ethernet, so I'd assume
that this is a third-party card, and that the drivers you need would be on
the site of the card or chipset manufacturer. In any case, the original CD
won't contain any drivers for Mac OS 9. If you have the box for the card or
anything, that's a good start. Otherwise, try and locate the existing
extension and from there get the make and model. Then locate the website for
the card or chipset maker and download the latest drivers.

Of course, what is "refuse to recognise"? I assume that it shows up in Apple
System Profiler on the PCI bus just fine (in the Devices tab), but that the
driver is just not allowing the OS to see it (in the TCP/IP and AppleTalk
control panels). If it doesn't show up on the bus, that would be worrying.
