I've got a StarMax 5500/200. It has a good hard drive, which boots in other
Macs. But it won't boot in the StarMax. The CD and Zip drives are missing.
The system was missing DIMMs when I got it, and I put various 3.3volt DIMMS
in, but none worked. It has a fresh 4.5V PRAM battery. When I turn it on,
the power supply runs, the green LED on the upper left corner of the
motherboard lights up, the hard drive goes through self-test, and nothing
else happens. No video. It will not boot from the floppy; in fact, the
floppy appears dead. I installed a CD-ROM, but it won't even open and close
the tray. Is it a dead mobo, or wrong RAM? Thanks for any help.
