Two things that have bugged me for a while:

i. Why do StarMaxen periodically refuse to switch on? Every so often, mine
won't turn on - somewhere between the start-up chime and Open Firmware
initialising (I've set mine to use the keyboard and screen), the machine
locks up. You can make it come on by either leaving it off for long enough
(how long, I don't know), or by switching it off at the wall socket and on
again, and then pressing the power key.

Back when my university had 3000/200s, I often found ones that would refuse
to come on like this, so it seems to be a problem with the power circuitry
and someone might know why.

ii. Why does Mac OS 9.1 take an age to start up on mine? Between the desktop
picture being presented, and the desktop icons being shown, the amount of
time that elapses is far greater than it was for 8.5.1, and I want to know
what it thinks its doing all that time. (I forget whether the clean install
of 9.0.4 did this, or whether it was only the 9.1 upgrade)

*shrugs*

Just in case anyone else has experienced these and knows why.
