Almost all current web cams are USB based at this time. If you friend is runnings OS 8.6 or later, then it should be no problem to add a PCI-USB card ($15-$30) and a USB Webcam. When checking for Webcams make sure they are suppose to work with Macs and the OS version your friend is on.
