Hi, I have been on this list for a long time and I know this question has probably been answered a thousand times but I will ask it again.
I have a Starmax 5000/275 with 96 mb RAM installed. OS 8.6 I have the 32 mb chip that came with the machine and a 64 mb chip that I purchased years ago. The problem is that the machine will only read either the 32 mb chip or the 64 mb chip. I have switch the chips around years ago and it did not seem to be a problem with any of the slots. The 32 mb chip is in the single slot and works when the 64 mb chip is not installed. The 64 mb chip works when it is in either dual slot but the 32 mb chip then is not read. I know starmax had some memory recognition problems but I forgot the solutions to them. I didn't really care because 64 mb use to be enough ram. Now my machine is getting slow and always running low on memory when trying to use IE or Word. Can only use one at time. Other than that, computer still runs great. Any suggestions, and does anyone know where I can get another 64 mb chip so that I can up the memory to 160 mb?
