Of course one's mileage may vary, but I have about 12 partitions scattered on four disks inside my StarMax, and at least five of them have an OS (from 8.1 to 9.1). Right now, it's running on OS 9.1 and none of the other partitions seem to give me any trouble. It is on *all* the time. Rob and Michael, You *know* that no one subscribed to this list is a "weenie" either with Mac, or PC, or Linux. On the other hand, I know disproportionately more weenies than I do geeks or nerds. Even half of the "Information Technology" employees where I used to work were not geeks or nerds. They were incompetent and lazy. Rather than trouble shoot a problem (as happens on this list--nod to frequent contributors jr, popman, Mr. Klaus), the IT solution was the three-finger-salute or completely wipe the HD and reinstall the OS followed by numerous "service packs." This is a Mac-centric, StarMax-centric list and Phil was commenting on *his* PeeCee weenie friends. Certainly Phil didn't mean to diss the enlightened and competent readers of this list.
