I am using Shanghai version 2.01. As previously stated it doesn't want to start with anything other than 256 colors but once it starts you can change it to a higher resolution. I suspect that 256 is the minimum and was probably at the time the high end resolution. It seems to perform flawlessly here. It is however a copyrighted program. Just thought that should be mentioned.
