Well, my StarMax 4000/200 finally died. it was the pram chip I'm pretty sure but not certain. She lasted many years and I thought there might never be an end. I decided not to Ebay (a verb, right?) another one because , being in Canada, of the dollar exchange and the shipping and duty costs, besides not knowing what I would be getting sight unseen. I went to the local used computer stored to look at the G3's and ended up with a G4 tower instead. Then after the surgical transplant of my 80 gig HD and my CD-RW from the old machine to the new, I was in shock. I suddenly realized that I've left the old technology behind. no more SCSI, ADB connectors, serial or parallel cables which means leaving my scanner, printer and various external HD and whatnot behind, unless I get a SCSI adaptor to USB! IT was too much too fast. I wasn't ready. I'm in grief counselling now, looking for closure.
One of you have expressed interest in my old power supply. I've also got ram and a JoeCard G3, 260 MHZ card, and a brand new battery which I bought on spec. I think this is what my little sweetie would have liked: to be a organ donor, to keep active in another's body contributing to this world. I want to thank you all for the help you've given me these many years. I've never felt alone with my old technology being with this group. I'll miss you ....I need to stop now....tears aren't good for my keyboard. -- StarMax is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and... / Buy books, CDs, videos, and more from Amazon.com \ / <http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/redirect-home/lowendmac> \ Support Low End Mac <http://lowendmac.com/lists/support.html> StarMax list info: <http://lowendmac.com/lists/starmax.html> --> AOL users, remove "mailto:" Send list messages to: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To unsubscribe, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> For digest mode, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subscription questions: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/starmax%40mail.maclaunch.com/> Using a Mac?
