One question:
I kept the old OS 7.6 CD extension so that the StarMax (non-Apple) CD player can easily detect and mount CDs, correct? Even with the old extension, I get erratic ability of the StarMax to boot from a system CD or say from TechToolPro 2. Don't know why, but sometimes it just shows the little smily Mac face and will not go beyond it forcing me to do a hard reboot (the 5-finger salute as they call it). Maybe I need to think about discarding the old StarMax CD-ROM player and replacing it with an Apple brand? Do I disable the Apple CD/DVD extension which is installed with OS 8.6?
Thanks again!
Bill
