Hi all, I recall this being discussed shortly after the release of the 3.1
updgrade, but I can't find any messages...
Suddenly, and without warning last night, my SNP 3.1.1 gives me the message
on startp, "no stars found in data folder" or words to that effect. It then
quits, and my machine hangs, forcing a restart. It appears to be related to
the fact that it is also trying to check for updates on the internet as part
of the startup sequence.
Mac BW G3, Sys 9.0.4. This ONLY happens when I start by double clicking a
Starry Night document, not when I double-click the application itself (or an
alias). This is very bad, because I make extensive use of SNP document files
to save a variety of scenarios, and like to start them by double-clicking
them in the finder.
I have already reinstalled 3.1.1, and last night was forced to restore my
system folder from a backup when my system got corrupted by repeated crashes
while trying to figure out this problem.
I have turned off the "check internet for updates" feature until I get some
idea what is going wrong here.
Anyone have experiences/solutions to share?
