It would be good if it was modeled after drupal.org/project more then
addons.mozilla.org. Then anyone can submit patches and provide support
without directly relying on the developer. If I had a dollar for every time
I wanted to use an abandoned Firefox extension...

Version control might be a bit out of scope but with a little love git
would integrate with the project module nicely. This could maybe be an
option for the developers who want it. Then if they can't maintain the code
or it becomes abandoned someone else could become maintainer.
