-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I have started a site before for a specific group of people (a school) and I understand how to publicize something like that but I am looking ad making a new site for general use and I wanted to see if anyone had any tips? I am also looking for technical tips for getting things up and running smoothly. I also want to know what services are most important to users to that I can start it running publicly before absolutely everything is worked out.
I also need ideas on how to get post via email where I can not do a script alias for an address. My host does not do script aliases and I have heard of some hacks to get those working but I could not get them to work when I tried them. I have both POP and IMAP so I can use either of those as input but I want some alternative. I also think that this should be built into statusnet queues system to have it check an email account occasionally (probably a configurable amount of time) and process it. The account would be a catch-all account of course. It might also be cool to allow it to work off of one address using the [email protected] format which many email servers allow, I do not know how much harder that would be to implement though because often the tokens in that format are used to sort messages.
