Hello and welcome to the project! About contacting someone: SOCIS projects are supposed to provide a "mentor" to the students. I guess this would be Fabien, because he's the most knowledgeable about Stellarium's graphics engine. (And because he has handled the SOCIS stuff so far anyway. :)) He said he's going to have almost no Internet connection for the next few days, so he may not be able to answer immediately. The project code is hosted on Launchpad: https://code.launchpad.net/stellarium The main branch is here: https://code.launchpad.net/~stellarium/stellarium/trunk We use Bazaar for version control, because it is the only VCS supported by Launchpad. The plus side is that you can host public personal branches that can easily be merged with the main branch. If you are unfamiliar with it, I suggest reading Bazaar's documentation first. It has some peculiarities: for example, it makes a difference between a "branch" and a "checkout". There is some "developers' documentation" on the website, but it's out of date (two major classes were merged recently). After you get the code, you can generate an up-to-date local copy with Doxygen (the online documentation is generated using Doxygen anyway).
