In general, concerning USR modems and STFaxPro up to at least version 3.8
avoid Fax Class 2.0 since it is still not reliable enough.
Use Fax Class 1 instead restricted to 9600 baud.
This shows significantly more stable results here together with an
USR 33.600 Fax/Voice modem.
No experience with the independent mode stuff so far.
